Arewa for Asiwaju, a political support group backing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, has set a target of mobilising 10,000 supporters from the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory for the flag-off of his 2027 campaign in Kaduna State.
The group said the mobilisation was aimed at demonstrating its organisational strength and consolidating grassroots support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its Head of Media Relations, Edwin Olofu, the Director-General of Arewa for Asiwaju, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, said the target reflected the movement’s determination to mobilise supporters across the North and the FCT.
He said the exercise would be coordinated through the group’s national leadership, state coordinators, and grassroots structures to ensure effective participation from across the region.
Abubakar said, “The target of 10,000 supporters reflects our determination to demonstrate our organisational capacity and sustain political mobilisation in support of President Tinubu’s re-election bid.”
He added that the movement was strengthening its coordination mechanisms and engaging supporters at the state, local government, and community levels to achieve the target.
Describing the campaign flag-off as a significant political gathering, the director-general said it would bring together supporters of the president, party stakeholders, and members of allied political movements to demonstrate their commitment to his re-election.
According to him, the event would also provide an opportunity for members of Arewa for Asiwaju to reaffirm their support for Tinubu’s political agenda and strengthen collaboration among supporters across the region.
Abubakar urged state coordinators, local mobilisation teams, and members to intensify preparations, expand grassroots engagement, and maintain effective communication to ensure the successful implementation of the mobilisation plan.
He also called on members to conduct their activities peacefully and responsibly, emphasising the importance of discipline and effective coordination in achieving the movement’s objectives. ENDS…
