The Anambra State Government has warned supporters of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, against voting for Peter Obi and his Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, in the 2027 general election.
The warning was contained in a post shared on Monday through the official X account managed by the New Media office of Governor Charles Soludo. The state government described the message as a “Betrayal Alert for Ndi APGA” and accused Obi of working against the party that produced him as governor.
“A vote for Peter Obi and the NDC is a vote to kill APGA.
“Since 2014, Obi has had one mission: to destroy the party that made him. In 2015, while President Tinubu stood with APGA, Obi backed opposition to bury us.
“Do not be deceived by a man who abandoned his own house.
“Anambra is APGA. Ndi APGA, defend your home. Resist the NDC,” the government stated.
Obi left APGA in 2014 and joined the Peoples Democratic Party after resigning as the party’s leader and Board of Trustees chairman.
The statement has sparked mixed reactions on X, with some users backing APGA while others criticised the state government’s message and defended Obi.
