Abia PDP Chairman clinches House of Reps ticket, as candidates emerge 

The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has released the results of its House of Representatives primary election conducted on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

The State Chairman of the PDP, Amah Abraham Nnanna, clinched the ticket for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.

Announcing the results in Umuahia, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Ikenna Onuoha, said the election followed the prescribed Electoral Act and was conducted in line with the PDP Constitution 2017, as amended.

According to Onuoha, the election, which produced candidates in four federal constituencies, was conducted through consensus and affirmation modes.

“And the party charged us to adopt two modes of election. Number one is consensus. And where consensus is not reached, the party mandated us to adopt direct primary election,” Onuoha said.

Other candidates are: Akpulonu Solomon for Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency.

For Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Humphrey Chukwudi Benson emerged.

For Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency, Ajuziogu Roland got the ticket.

The remaining results from the other four federal constituencies in Abia State had not been released at the time of filing this report.
