Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie and her husband, Abasi Ene-Obong, have welcomed their first child, a baby boy.
The actress announced the arrival of her newborn on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, which coincidentally marks her birthday.
Breaking away from her usual birthday traditions, Ini Dima-Okojie shared a raw, emotional post on her Instagram account alongside a photo from the day her son was born.
She noted that while her birthdays usually feature carefully planned glam concepts and photoshoots, none of that felt right this year.
“Every year, my birthday comes with a photoshoot, glam, and a carefully planned concept. “This year, none of that felt quite right.
“Instead, I’m sharing a photo from the day my son was born. The day my life changed forever. “Because as special as every birthday has been, this one feels different. This year, I celebrate as a mother,” she wrote.
The actress expressed that celebrating this specific birthday as a mother has humbled, stretched, and challenged her more than any movie role she has ever played.“
There is no role I have ever played that has humbled me, stretched me, challenged me, or filled my heart quite like this one. “These past weeks have been some of the most beautiful, overwhelming, exhausting, and rewarding of my life,” she said.
Ini also spoke about the experience of caring for her newborn son, whom she described as “the cutest boy with the sweetest dimples,” noting that motherhood had revealed strengths she never knew she possessed.
She added that the experience had deepened her appreciation for mothers everywhere, admitting that she had underestimated the demands of the newborn phase.
“The newborn phase is no joke, and I definitely didn’t fully understand what was waiting for me. But even on the hardest days, I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything,” she wrote.
Expressing gratitude, the actress said she felt honoured that God entrusted her with the responsibility of raising her son. “Today, I celebrate another year of life, but even more than that, I celebrate the privilege of being his mum.
“Happy birthday to me,” she added. The arrival of her baby boy holds deep emotional significance, as it comes after the actress previously opened up about her miracle pregnancy following her public battle with uterine fibroids.
