The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has unveiled Safriel Glah, a retired General Manager of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, as the running mate to its Adamawa governorship candidate, Abdulrahman Haske, for the 2027 election.
Glah, former General Manager and Head of Environment, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) at NNPC Limited, was presented as the party’s deputy governorship candidate at a media briefing in Abuja on Monday.
Speaking at the event, Haske described the choice of Glah as a strategic decision based on competence, integrity, experience and a record of service.
Quoting him, “Today marks an important milestone in our collective vision for a more prosperous and forward-looking Adamawa State. In Safriel Glah, we have found a partner whose distinguished career embodies excellence, discipline, professionalism and selfless service.
“Our partnership represents a convergence of complementary strengths. While I have spent years building businesses, creating opportunities and promoting enterprise, Glah has built an outstanding record in public administration, policy implementation and strategic leadership.
“Together, we offer Adamawa a competent, balanced and results-oriented team dedicated to transforming the fortunes of our state.”
The APM presidential candidate added that his running mate’s public and private-sector experience would support his plans for economic growth, job creation, improved service delivery and development in the state.
Glah spent more than 34 years in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry before retiring from NNPC Limited. She is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
Accepting the nomination, Glah thanked the party leadership and the people of Adamawa State for the confidence reposed in her.
She said, “I stand before you today humbled and profoundly grateful as I accept the responsibility of serving as the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement alongside my principal and Governorship Candidate, Hon. Abdulrahman Bashir Haske. I deeply appreciate the confidence placed in me and the privilege to serve.”
The former NNPC official said her professional experience had taught her that leadership required responsibility, teamwork and measurable results.
“As Deputy Governorship Candidate, I will support my principal, complement his leadership and work with our team to promote a vision of inclusive development, opportunity, accountability and sustainable progress for Adamawa State,” she assured.
Glah further stated that politics should be a platform for unity rather than division and reaffirmed her commitment to the ticket and the people of Adamawa.
“I pledge my loyalty, cooperation and dedication as we undertake this journey together. To the people of Adamawa State, I am ready to listen, ready to work and ready to serve,” she said.
APM National Chairman Yusuf Dantalle and Adamawa State Chairman Badejo Bello also described the ticket as a combination of private-sector experience and public-sector expertise.
Dantalle said the party deliberately paired Haske’s entrepreneurship, innovation and economic vision with Glah’s experience in public service, policy implementation and institutional leadership.
Haske secured the APM governorship ticket after defecting from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
