“I just want people to know that I’m versatile; I can do anything with music,” Mr Ayuba says.
Nigerian Fuji musician, Adewale Ayuba, says he will release his new five-track album, “Arise”, on 19 September this year.
According to Mr Ayuba, the project marks the beginning of a new chapter in his musical career.
Mr Ayuba explained that ‘Arise’ marks a departure from the traditional long-form album format, which often involved lengthy recordings.
He said he would henceforth focus on shorter songs and more frequent releases to align with changing music consumption trends.
“I’m no longer going to do long-form albums or 33-minute songs. I’m going with singles. That’s why I called it Arise — the beginning of another journey in my life,” he said.
Mr Ayuba said he opted for a five-track album after his recent singles, including “Koloba Koloba” and “Uncommon”, received positive feedback.
According to Mr Ayuba, the singles served as a test run to measure listener response before he compiled the new album.
“The two singles that I did, including Koloba Koloba, were just to sample and see whether people would appreciate them.
“Now, I see the kind of love they show to me through Koloba Koloba, and Uncommon. I have now done five songs together in one album.
“In the album, we have Ileke, All Over the World, Kututu, Yetunde and one more,” he said.
The Bonsue Fuji crooner noted that his music was driven by messages rather than mere entertainment.
He said his new approach would not compromise the quality or message of his music, emphasising that versatility remained an important part of his artistry.
“I just want people to know that I’m versatile; I can do anything with music,” Mr Ayuba said.
He urged music lovers to listen to Arise when it is released on 19 September and form their own opinions about the five-track project.
Mr Ayuba said the album would be available globally, calling its release the beginning of another chapter in his musical journey.
