Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has officially returned to the state, ending months of speculation over his absence following the expiration of the emergency rule and the departure of the sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ekwe Ibas (rtd).
The governor arrived at the Port Harcourt International Airport at about 12:19 pm on Friday.
Supporters of the governor had gathered at the Government House, Port Harcourt, to welcome him back after the six-month suspension.
However, they dispersed after waiting for several hours without official movement.
Governor Fubara arrived at Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, on Friday morning, and the plane conveying him touched down around mid-day, marking the end of a prolonged period of political uncertainty in the state.
