The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a serving Nigerian Air Force personnel over an alleged armed robbery and abduction incident in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The suspect was arrested by police operatives on September 17 following an investigation into the incident, according to the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu.
The police also recovered a blue Toyota Camry allegedly used during the operation.
The arrest formed part of the operational successes recorded by the Force in Oyo State and contained in its state-by-state executive summary released on Sunday.
In a separate operation in the state, police operatives arrested three suspected members and associates of a kidnapping syndicate.
The operation, conducted on September 18 following credible intelligence, led to the arrest of a suspected member of the syndicate at Kanbi Village in Atisbo Local Government Area.
Two other suspects were also arrested for allegedly concealing kidnapping activities.
The police said investigations into both cases were being handled by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Ibadan.
The Force did not disclose the identities of the suspects or provide further details about the alleged robbery, abduction and kidnapping operations.
The latest arrests come amid ongoing police operations targeting kidnapping, armed robbery and other violent crimes across the country.
