Akpabio: “I was in the wrong party called PDP,” says APC is his political home

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has said he was in the “wrong party” during his time in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), maintaining that he found his political home after defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking at the inauguration of access roads to the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates in Abuja, Akpabio urged APC NWC members to disregard comments about his PDP performance, saying it referred to a period before the APC was formed.

He said: “A progressive-minded person like me should belong to a progressive family. When APC came to be, I discovered that that was my group.” He also described Wike as the “national leader of the winning faction” of the PDP.
