Social media activist VeryDarkMan, popularly known as VDM, has taken another swipe at Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile amid speculation that the singer took a dig at him in a new song featuring Peruzzi and Shoday.
In a post shared on his social media page, VDM said he would be disappointed if the song failed to maintain the number one position on Apple Music for a month.
The activist also suggested that Zlatan’s wedding was used to generate publicity for his album, claiming that neither the wedding nor the album received the level of attention he expected.
“Wetin go pain me be say if this your song no do number 1 for Apple Music for one month. Person wey do a whole wedding because he won promote him album, album no blow, wedding no blow,” VDM stated.
He further questioned the engagement generated by social media blogs that covered the rapper’s wedding, claiming that none of the posts attracted up to 5,000 comments.
“All the blogs that posted the wedding, no one entered 5k comments. All the PR, Vincent everywhere. If that song no stay No. 1 for one month, e go pain me,” he added.
VDM’s remarks come amid speculation surrounding a line in INFERNO, a song featuring Zlatan, Peruzzi and Shoday. Some listeners believe the lyric was directed at the activist because of its reference to the name Vincent, which is VDM’s first name.
In the track, Zlatan raps, “I no be Vincent, I no fit masturbate,” prompting reactions from listeners who suspect the line may have been aimed at the outspoken social media personality.
However, Zlatan has not publicly confirmed that the lyric was directed at VDM, leaving the claims unverified.
