The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, FCCPC, has shut down Paradise Estate located at the Life Camp Extension of Abuja, over alleged violations of consumer rights.
The enforcement followed accusations that the estate failed to deliver housing units to purchasers despite full payment.
According to the Commission, the decision was based on multiple complaints but the management repeatedly failed to comply with regulatory directives.
FCCPC noted that several petitions had been received and other offenses as grounds for the enforcement.
The Commission further stated that the continued non-compliance led to its intervention and the eventual sealing of the property.
Reaffirming its stance, the FCCPC stressed its commitment to protecting consumers from unfair business practices, while cautioning real estate developers to strictly honour contractual agreements and adhere to consumer protection laws.
