APC primary: Tinubu records landslide support across 225 Kebbi wards

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Direct Presidential Primary Election conducted on Saturday across the 225 wards in the 21 local government areas of Kebbi State ended successfully, with overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who emerged victorious in the exercise.

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, alongside the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, and former Governor, Ambassador Sa’idu Usman Dakingari, led mobilisation and monitoring activities across various wards on Saturday to ensure the peaceful conduct of the primary election.

At Nassarawa II Ward in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, APC supporters turned out massively on Saturday to participate in the exercise, where President Tinubu secured a total of 5,652 votes, demonstrating strong support in the Governor’s ward.

Speaking during the exercise, the Kebbi State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, commended party members for their loyalty and commitment to the APC leadership at both state and national levels.

He said the large turnout reflected the unity and strength of the party in Kebbi State, adding that members remained resolute in their support for President Tinubu and Governor Idris.

Governor Nasir Idris, while addressing supporters at Nassarawa II Ward on Saturday, appreciated APC members for their show of unity and solidarity toward the party and the President.

He described the support recorded during the direct primary election as unprecedented and assured party members that his administration would continue to deliver more democratic dividends to the people of Kebbi State.

At Kokani South Ward, the APC Chairman announced that President Tinubu secured 2,500 votes in the ward, while Argungu Local Government Area recorded a total of 25,525 votes for the President during the exercise.

In his remarks, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu expressed appreciation to the people of Argungu and the APC family across Kebbi State for their loyalty and support for the President and the Governor.

He noted that the outcome of the exercise reflected strong confidence in the APC leadership by party members.
