Apply Now: Katsina Government MBBS Scholarship in Russian Universities

Katsina State Government has opened applications for its Special Foreign Scholarship Programme for qualified students who wish to study Medicine (MBBS) in Russian universities.

Governor, His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, approved the commencement of the selection process by the State Coordination Committee on the Special Foreign Scholarship Programme.

The programme is aimed at sponsoring eligible indigenes of Katsina State to pursue medical studies abroad.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must possess a Senior School Certificate (WAEC or NECO) with at least eight credits obtained in one sitting. The subjects must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English Language, with at least two distinctions.

Candidates must be between 16 and 23 years old at the time of application. Only students who attended public (government-owned) secondary schools are eligible to apply.

The state government also stated that one candidate will be selected from each of the 34 Local Government Areas through a merit-based examination.

Application Process

Applicants are required to upload copies of their academic credentials, birth certificate, indigene letter and endorsement from their Local Government Chairman.

Applications should be addressed to the Chairman, Coordination Committee, Katsina State Special Foreign Scholarship Programme. The deadline for submission is Friday, June 26, 2026.

According to the government, shortlisted candidates will be informed of the date and venue of the examination through their phone numbers and email addresses.
