Arsenal Reclaim Top Premier League Spot After Narrow Victory Over Newcastle, as City Through to FA Cup Final

Arsenal Football Club have reclaimed their top position in the Premier League after Eberechi Eze’s 9th-minute goal against Newcastle United on Saturday evening, news.ng reports.

With a three-point gap ahead of rivals Manchester City (70), Arsenal, who now have 73 points, can build on this momentum to reignite their chase for Premier League glory.

Despite playing against Newcastle United, the Gunners were able to defend their one-goal lead for 82 minutes, including added time.

Another opportunity presents itself for Arsenal when they face Fulham FC next Saturday.

City, on the other hand, will take a trip to Everton on Monday, May 4, 2026, for their Matchday 34 fixture.

Elsewhere, City beat Southampton 2-1 in the semi-final stage of the FA Cup, as Jérémy Doku and Nicolás González found the back of the net for the Citizens in the 82nd and 87th minutes respectively, while Southampton’s only goal, courtesy of Finn Azaz, came in the 79th minute.

City now await the result between Chelsea and Leeds United tomorrow for an FA Cup final spot.
