Arsenal Football Club head coach Mikel Arteta has given an insight into how the final of the UEFA Champions League could play out as they face defending champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on Saturday, May 30, 2026, news.ng reports.
Arteta, who led his side to their first Champions League final since 2006, while addressing sports journalists on Friday, said his team are aware of the level of experience their opponents, PSG, possess.
Despite the quality and skill PSG players have, Arteta expressed confidence that his team will rise to the occasion and deliver.
He said, “It is what it is. We knew the level of the opposition that we had to face, either way, Bayern Munich or PSG. We know the quality that they have, and that’s it. But obviously, we’re also very confident that when we get to that moment, we’re going to deliver what we need to.”
Shifting focus to the Premier League, Arsenal will travel to the London Stadium on Sunday to play West Ham United as the Gunners look for a favourable outcome to extend their lead.
The Gunners have four games left and hold a five-point lead over rivals Manchester City.
Arteta, speaking on the four remaining matches, said the final phase of the league is very crucial given its importance.
According to Arteta, “It’s crucial, immense and needed, because what they can provide when we get the stadium into that emotional state, to that level of connection with the players, it’s just incredible. The players described it, they’re the most important ones, and they described it like they never had that feeling before in the stadium, and they make them better.”
