‘B-Red Offered to Share Money From His Father With Me’ — VeryDarkMan Alleges

Social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has alleged that Nigerian singer B-Red once offered to take him to meet his father, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, with the expectation that any money given to him by the governor would be shared between them.

VeryDarkMan made the allegation while criticising the Adeleke family over what he described as the lack of development in Osun State despite the family’s longstanding political influence.

Recounting his alleged conversation with B-Red, the critic said the singer had offered to facilitate a meeting with his father, assuring him that the governor would give him money, which they would subsequently share.

“That B-Red has once told me that, ‘VDM, he wants to take me to his father, his father will give me money, then we’ll now share it and I’ll give him his share.’ The f**k, who does that?” he said.

The allegation has added a fresh dimension to VeryDarkMan’s criticism of the Adeleke family, although the claim has not been independently established.

Questioning the family’s political dominance in Osun, he argued that the state should consider giving other political leaders an opportunity to govern if its development had not met expectations.

“If they have held that state for more than 35 years and it’s still like that, then they need to leave the state for other people to try, another family to try,” he said.

VeryDarkMan also questioned the state’s infrastructure and its ability to attract investors, citing the absence of an airport as an example of what he considers a major development challenge.

“So how do you bring investor to such state? Tell me now, how do you bring investor to such state?” he asked.

He further questioned the display of wealth by the governor’s children, referencing reports of luxury vehicles, including a Lamborghini and a 2026 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, against the economic realities facing residents.

“Governor’s children buying Lamborghini and 2026 G-Wagon in a poor state like that, and you tell me their family have money. The state has no impact,” he said.

The critic explained that he deliberately waited until after the election campaign to express his views, saying he did not want his comments to be interpreted as an attempt to campaign against the governor.

Defending his position, VeryDarkMan said his criticism was motivated by patriotism rather than personal relationships or political affiliations.

“I speak because of how patriotic I am. I don’t care. There’s no friendship. There’s no relationship I have with anybody that will stop me from pointing out what I want to point out,” he said.

He also rejected suggestions that he receives payment to publish critical content about public figures, insisting that nobody had paid him to make such posts since he began his activism.

“There has never been anybody since I started that will come and say, ‘I paid VeryDarkMan for this.’ No dey,” he said.

VeryDarkMan maintained that he would continue to hold public officials accountable despite criticism and backlash, adding that his pride and ego had helped him resist attempts to influence or silence him through alleged inducements.

The allegations against B-Red and the Adeleke family remain unverified. B-Red and Governor Adeleke’s responses to the claims were not included in the remarks provided.
