Ballon d'Or 2026: Mbappé makes history after finishing in top 10 official ranking

Real Madrid striker, Kylian Mbappé, on Monday made history after finishing in the top 10 official ranking of the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

Mbappé made the list alongside Ousmane Dembélé, Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Lionel Messi, Michael Olise, Fabián Ruiz, Rodri and Lamine Yamal.

However, according to Madrid Xtra, the France captain has now become the first French player in history to finish in the Ballon d’Or top 10 for nine consecutive editions.

Mbappé will now hope to be awarded the 2026 Ballon d’Or as he has never won it before.

But the former Paris Saint-Germain star will face strong competition from Yamal and Kane.

Mbappé finished as top scorer in the Champions League and LaLiga last season. He also won the Golden Boot as the World Cup’s top scorer.
