Bandits Abduct Village Head In Kano

Gunmen have abducted the village head of Aujarawar Alkali in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State.

The traditional ruler, Alhaji Ahmad Yakubu Ahmad, was reportedly taken away after the assailants stormed the community on Thursday night.

The incident was confirmed on Friday by the spokesperson to the Zannan Kano and District Head of Jogana, Mahi Isma’il, who described the abduction as a major setback to peace and security in the area.

According to Isma’il, the incident has heightened anxiety among residents, with the victim’s family and community leaders increasingly concerned about his whereabouts and safety.

Reacting to the development, the District Head of Jogana, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ma’aji, appealed to security agencies to intensify efforts to locate and rescue the traditional ruler.

“We appeal to security operatives to strengthen the protection of lives and property and do everything possible to ensure the safe return of our village head,” Ma’aji said.

He urged residents to remain calm and law-abiding while cooperating with security agencies by providing useful information and maintaining vigilance.

The district head also called on residents to pray for the safe release of the abducted monarch, expressing hope that he would soon return to his family and community.

NEWSNGR contacted the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said he would provide an update after obtaining details from the area.
