A young man from Bartabwa Division, Baringo North, has claimed he lost his job because of content he shared on social media.
Daniel Seguton Chelimo narrated in a video how he was dismissed after allegedly misleading women while recounting an anonymous person’s story.

In the video, he warned women about an alleged scam in which some men deceive them into sending large sums of money before disappearing.

“This one video got me fired yesterday, but no worries. I’ll rise again, Inshallah,” he said.
The story he shared involved a couple who had dated for only two months before their relationship ended in heartbreak after the woman allegedly lost KSh 1 million to the man.
Daniel explained that although the two had been dating, the woman had never visited the man’s home because they always met in public places.

“One day, the man told his girlfriend that he needed KSh 200,000 to clear his new car from the Port of Mombasa because his money had allegedly been frozen in his bank account. The woman sent him KSh 250,000 for the clearance, and he later claimed he had successfully collected the car.
Weeks later, he allegedly sent her an AI-generated photo showing that he had been involved in an accident. He claimed he did not want the matter to become public because he was a high-profile individual. He then asked her to send him KSh 1 million to bribe the police and pay a specialised doctor. He instructed her not to transfer the money electronically but to withdraw the cash and leave it in a bag at a designated location for someone to collect. She did exactly that, and that was the last time they ever spoke,” Daniel narrated.

The 27-year-old said the incident that led to his dismissal happened after his employer, who had hired him as a ranch employee in 2019, watched the viral video.
According to Daniel, his employer was relaxing with his girlfriend when the woman recognised him and approached him.

She reportedly thanked Daniel for creating the video, saying it had enlightened many women, leaving his boss curious about his online content.
“My boss went to check my TikTok account and came across that video. A few days later, he called me into his office and asked why I was misleading women and breaking marriages. The story wasn’t even about him or his girlfriend.
He told me to either delete my TikTok account or leave the company. After serving as a ranch manager and supervisor since 2019, I chose content creation over the job. That is how I became unemployed,” he said.
Daniel appealed for employment opportunities, saying he could not deactivate his account over content that he believes did not violate any platform rules.
