Baze University Abuja has announced the appointment of Prof Abiodun Adeniyi as its new Vice-Chancellor, alongside Ahmad Mahmoud Lawi as Registrar, with both appointments taking effect immediately.
A statement issued by the management of the institution said the appointments were approved by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Founder, Datti Baba-Ahmed, following a rigorous and competitive selection process.
Prof. Adeniyi, a scholar of Communication and Media Epistemology, assumes the role after serving as the university’s Registrar.
He is succeeded by Alhaji Lawi, who previously held the position of Director of Human Resources.
The university noted that both appointees bring over a decade of service to Baze University, underscored by institutional loyalty, professionalism, and strong administrative credentials.
The Board of Trustees expressed confidence that the new leadership team would advance the university’s mission, strengthen its academic profile, and enhance administrative efficiency.
According to the board, the appointments reflect the institution’s commitment to continuity, merit-driven leadership, and sustained growth.
The university community has since congratulated the new appointees and urged staff and stakeholders to support them as they assume their responsibilities.
