Nigerian billionaire businessman and nightlife entrepreneur Obi Cubana has shared a candid perspective on the demands of building and maintaining immense wealth, saying the lifestyle is far more challenging than many people imagine.
In a recent interview, the entrepreneur explained that his packed schedule rarely gives him time to rest or even enjoy regular meals, as he is constantly travelling for business engagements across different locations.
According to Obi Cubana, he is focused on making the most of what he considers the peak years of his life. He said his goal is to work as hard as possible now so he can eventually retire with peace of mind, knowing he gave his best.
“People think being a billionaire is a joke. No rest, no time for food. Right now, I am in my prime. I need to make enough money so when I retire, I won’t regret,” he said.
The businessman added that turning 50 has not slowed him down. He revealed that he still has the energy to maintain a demanding routine, often starting his day as early as 5 a.m. and sleeping around 2 a.m. while remaining productive throughout.
Obi Cubana also addressed the public perception surrounding private jets, noting that many people wrongly view them as luxury items. He explained that, for him, they are practical business tools that make it easier to move between meetings and fulfil tight schedules.
Sharing more details about his routine, he said:
“Being a billionaire, people think it is a joke, but at least you are following me right now and you are seeing first-hand what happens. No rest, no time for food. We try to eat on board while travelling. Tomorrow, we’re off to London again, and in five days we’re back.
“Right now is my prime. My body, my legs, my hands, my organs are still listening to me, so I have to use them very well so that when I retire, I will know I made the most of this stage of my life.
“I am lucky that at 50, I still have the drive. I can wake up by 5 a.m., go to bed by 2 a.m., and still remain active. My brain is still sharp, and all my senses are intact. Most people think these private jets are for luxury, but they are not. They are for convenience so you can get to meetings quickly.”
