Nigerian music star Kingsley Okonkwo, better known as Kcee, has predicted that the culture of maintaining a mysterious public image will soon become irrelevant in the entertainment industry.
The singer made the remarks during an interview with Selah Meditate, where he discussed the changing dynamics of the music business and what artists need to do to remain visible and relevant.
According to Kcee, artists can no longer rely heavily on staying away from the public to build intrigue around their careers. Instead, he believes entertainers need to maintain a strong presence and regularly connect with their audience.
The ‘Limpopo’ hitmaker also revealed that he had spoken with some professors in the United States, who, according to him, agreed that the mysterious approach would gradually lose its appeal.
He noted that while staying away from the public once helped celebrities create demand and value around themselves, the rise of artificial intelligence and changes in audience behaviour have altered the entertainment landscape.

“The mysterious factor won’t be relevant in five years. I spoke with some professors in America, and they confirmed it. AI can now do what we are doing. Absence used to create value in 2021–2022, but things have changed. Artists need to be in people’s faces,”
