Boxing Match: How Soso Soberekon Punished Me for Failing to Trick the Public – Portable spills

Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has reignited the drama surrounding the long-hyped celebrity boxing match against comedian Carter Efe, publicly calling out music executive Soso Soberekon for allegedly breaking his promise of cash and a luxury car.

In a viral video, Portable declared: “Soso Soberekon has refused to give me the money and car they promised me to fight Carter Efe because I refused to damage his Rolls Royce. E-Money has promised to give me a car. Soso Soberekon, please take me to E-Money.”

This bout dates back to February 2026, when Soberekon proposed it during a livestream and offered Carter Efe ₦50 million to step into the ring. Portable rejected the amount as “too small,” demanding ₦50 million plus a ₦300 million luxury car (totalling ₦350 million) and boasting he would beat Carter Efe mercilessly.

Organisers later paid Portable ₦40 million upfront, with Soberekon and billionaire businessman E-Money each pledging an additional ₦50 million, and E-Money adding a car if Portable wins.

The whole issue took a dramatic turn during a recent face-off arranged by Soberekon. The Zazzu crooner claims the executive urged him to smash the windscreen of his white Rolls-Royce for dramatic effect, while Carter Efe was told to break a TV. Portable refused, stating, “I’m an artist… I pray to have a Rolls-Royce one day. I won’t risk my future as an ambassador,” He alleges Soberekon has now withdrawn the extra money and car as punishment.
