The federal government’s third repatriation flight conveying Nigerians from South Africa has arrived at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos.
The flight arrived Friday morning carrying 266 returnees and two officials. The plane departed Oliver Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, at 5:36 am.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Kimiebi Ebienfa said the government paid for five flights, with additional flights to be operated in the coming days. Over 1,000 Nigerians expressed interest in returning, but only about 700 are expected to be evacuated.
