BREAKING: Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP Fighters Burn School Buildings in Chibok Community

Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists reportedly attacked Kautikari community in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State on Saturday, June 13, 2026, setting public school facilities ablaze.

The attack was said to have occurred in the evening when the insurgents stormed the community and targeted primary and secondary school buildings.

Security sources said the attackers invaded the area around 7pm, set the school facilities on fire and fled, leaving residents in panic.

Although no deaths or injuries were immediately reported, many residents reportedly fled into nearby bushes and surrounding communities for safety as fear spread across the area.

The attack has raised fresh concerns over the safety of schools and vulnerable communities in Borno State, especially in areas that have suffered repeated attacks from insurgents over the years.

Kautikari and other communities in Chibok have remained among areas affected by recurring terrorist attacks, forcing residents to live under constant fear despite ongoing security operations in the North East.
