President Bola Tinubu has returned to the nation’s capital, Abuja, following his 2026 Sallah holiday break spent in Lagos, marking the end of his short festive retreat.
The President’s arrival on Tuesday, June 2, was anything but low-key, as top government officials and political heavyweights gathered to receive him at the Abuja International Airport.
Among those who welcomed him were his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, alongside other senior government dignitaries.
The high-profile reception immediately caught public attention, with political observers noting the presence of some of the country’s most influential power players at the airport.
Tinubu’s brief absence from Abuja during the Sallah period had drawn routine public interest, as is often the case with presidential movements, but his return now signals a resumption of full official duties in the capital.
