Early life and Education

Bryan picked up building skills from his father, an aircraft engineer, and spent his summers as a child helping build the family cottage. At 14, he started his own handyman business, doing odd jobs for neighbors. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1996 with a B.A. in Political Science and Business.

Business activity

Between 1995 and 2003, Baeumler ran an air-cargo business.

After working as a builder, he started a construction company that eventually became Baeumler Quality Construction and Renovations Inc. He now serves as the company’s president and CEO.

In 2011, Baeumler launched Baeumler Approved, a website that aids homeowners in connecting with home-service companies in Canada. Baeumler became the spokesperson of HeyBryan, a peer-to-peer mobile marketplace app that connects homeowners with home-service providers, in 2018.

In 2017, Bryan and his wife Sarah bought an abandoned beachfront resort on South Andros in the Bahamas and turned it into the Caerula Mar Club, a sustainable luxury resort. Just a few months before opening in December 2019, Hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas. Although their resort was not directly affected, many of their employees were impacted because their friends and family lived on the devastated islands.

Personal life

During the time that the Baeumlers were living at Caerula Mar Resort renovating it (as seen on Island of Bryan and Renovation Island), the children were at first homeschooled. Then Quintyn was sent to a regional boarding school high school for a normal high school life, while the other three children were enrolled in a nearby Bahamian school. The extensive renovations at the resort put stress on Bryan’s marriage with Sarah.
