A huge fire has engulfed part of Buckeye, Arizona as flames destroy almost 1,000 acres of land. Resdients have described the horror blaze as “like a warzone”.
The fast moving wildfire started on Saturday at around 3pm UTC (11pm BST) near the intersection of Hazen and Rooks roads, roughly one mile east of State Route 85. It expanded by more than 300 acres overnight with wind gusts reaching 30 mph and is currently at 0% containment, according to Arizona’s Family. The fire has now reportedly spread across 980 acres.
