CBS Evening News was interupted for a breaking alert as Vanessa Trump, Donald Trump Junior’s ex-wife, has announced she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is working on a treatment plan with doctors. The American news programme’s reporter told viewers as he made the sad announcement: “Just in, Vanessa Trump announced on Instagram this evening that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is working with her doctors on a treatment plan. Vanessa, now 48, is the President’s ex-daughter-in-law. She has five children with his son Donald Junior.”
On Wednesday, Vanessa, who is the mother of aspiring golfer Kai Trump, shared a personal update on Instagram. “I want to share a personal health update,” her statement read.
“I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan.
“I would like to thank my doctors for performing a procedure on me earlier this week. I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me.
“Thank you for your kindness and support. It truly means more than I can express. I kindly ask for privacy as I focus on my health and recovery. Vanessa.”
The news of her cancer comes following a difficult time for Vanessa who stood by Tiger Woods after he was arrested for driving under the influence.
Woods crashed his vehicle near his residence in Jupiter, Florida, and a judge granted him permission to leave the US and attend a rehabilitation programme.
Woods’ legal team contended that the professional golfer would gain from withdrawing from public attention, and he entered a treatment facility in Zurich, Switzerland.
The golfer departed the rehabilitation programme early to attend Kai Trump’s high school graduation at the Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens.
