Nigerian music label Chocolate City has reportedly taken legal action against rapper Odumodublvck over an alleged assault involving one of its staff members during the 2025 Flytime Festival in Lagos.
The record label confirmed that it had begun court proceedings after documents surfaced showing that its Project Manager and Public Relations Officer filed a lawsuit at the High Court of Lagos State, according to reports.
Court documents revealed that the alleged incident occurred on December 22, 2025, backstage at the Eko Convention Centre during the festival. The claimant was said to have been carrying out his official duties while assisting a Chocolate City artiste who was performing at the event.
According to the reports, the backstage area had several individuals present, including the artiste, security personnel, a bouncer, and accredited festival staff when Odumodublvck reportedly entered the space.
The label alleged that the rapper moved around the area, interacted with some people, and later approached the staff member to ask whether he or his brother was affiliated with Chocolate City.
The claimant alleged that Odumodublvck then physically attacked him, claiming the rapper “forcefully struck the Claimant in the face and immediately thereafter pushed him aggressively while issuing threats,” leaving him with physical injuries, fear, and emotional distress.
A security personnel was reportedly called in to intervene, but the claimant alleged that the confrontation continued, with further threats allegedly made against him.
Following the incident, the staff member said he received medical attention at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), where he was diagnosed with symptoms including recurring headaches, facial and neck pain, swelling, body discomfort, and psychological trauma.
He was reportedly advised to take time away from work while recovering.
The lawsuit listed several financial losses, including ₦2 million spent on medical treatment, ₦1 million in additional medical-related expenses, and another ₦1.5 million in personal costs linked to the incident.
The claimant also stated that his recovery period affected his professional commitments, including preventing him from travelling abroad with a Chocolate City artiste during the festive period, which allegedly resulted in missed opportunities and financial losses.
He is seeking ₦50 million in damages from Odumodublvck, citing loss of productivity, delayed work projects, and professional opportunities affected by the alleged incident.
As of the time of filing the report, the allegations remain claims before the court and have not been proven.
