Concerns Mount Over Whereabouts of Popular Skit Maker Ogbeni Adan

Questions have emerged over the whereabouts of Agun Oluwaseun, popularly known as Ogbeni Adan, a once-prominent Nigerian skit maker who rose to fame between 2016 and 2019 on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, now known as X.

Ogbeni Adan gained widespread recognition for his comedic portrayal of a strict African father in a series of relatable family-themed skits that resonated with a broad audience across social media platforms.

Despite his popularity during the peak of short-form online comedy content, the digital creator has remained largely absent from the public space since the COVID-19 pandemic, sparking concerns among followers who have noticed a significant drop in his online presence.

One of the few publicly reported incidents involving the comedian dates back to December 2017, when he was reportedly stabbed by suspected hoodlums in Iwo, Osun State, while attempting to intervene in a fight between two individuals during a film shoot.

A post shared via his social media handle at the time confirmed the incident, stating that he was receiving treatment and might be unable to release new skits for several days.

Since then, there has been no verified public statement regarding his current activities or reasons for his prolonged absence from the skit-making scene.

Ogbeni Adan was widely regarded as one of the early wave of Nigerian digital comedians who built large followings through character-driven storytelling on social media prior to the industry’s post-pandemic transition to newer platforms and formats.
