Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has responded to recent allegations made by Mr. Obasi, the former husband of his wife, Judy Austin, regarding access to his children.
Mr. Obasi, during an appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, claimed that Yul Edochie took his wife from him and alleged that he has been unable to see his two children for several years.
Addressing the controversy on X, Yul stated that several people had contacted him, urging him to permit Obasi to reunite with his children. In response, the actor maintained that he has never prevented anyone from seeing their children and questioned why he was being dragged into the matter.
According to him, many individuals now prefer to use social media to gain attention and generate income by mentioning his name rather than taking practical steps to resolve personal issues.
Yul further argued that if Obasi genuinely wishes to reconnect with his children, he should reach out directly to Judy Austin. He noted that Obasi already has her contact details and emphasized that any discussion concerning the children should be between the former couple, not him.
The actor stressed that the situation does not involve him and encouraged both parties to communicate privately instead of turning the matter into a public debate.
His comments, however, sparked mixed reactions online. While some social media users backed his position and advised Obasi to seek a direct resolution, others criticized the actor’s response. Critics questioned his description of Judy Austin as Obasi’s ex-wife and accused both him and Judy of contributing to the ongoing family dispute.
The exchange has continued to generate conversation online, with supporters and critics offering differing opinions on where responsibility lies in the matter.
