Famous Nigerian Afrobeats sensation popularly addressed as Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, on Friday, 3 July, 2026 urged up-coming musicians to remain committed to God even after achieving success, with a warning that fame comes with many distractions, reports thegazellenews.com.
Davido who gave the advise while speaking during an interview with Kiss Xtra which started trending on Friday,3 July, 2026 , called on upcoming artistes to believe in themselves, work consistently on their craft and avoid losing sight of the values that helped them succeed.
The Osun State born singer said passion, dedication and continuous self-improvement were key to his journey in the music industry.
“My advice for up-and-coming artistes is first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me,” he said, just as he also urged rising artistes to keep God at the centre of their lives, particularly after attaining fame.
“Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here,” he added.
