Deputy Speaker Kalu Congratulates Tinubu on APC Presidential Ticket

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on emerging as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general election.

Kalu, who also served as the APC Collation and Returning Officer for the presidential primary in Abia State, described Tinubu’s victory at the party’s primary election as a reflection of the confidence party members have in his leadership.

In a statement on Sunday, May 24 by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, the deputy speaker thanked APC members in Abia State for what he described as their massive support for the president during the exercise.

“I was not surprised that Mr. President secured the ticket by a landslide. He is massively loved by our party members because of his courage, vision, and the reforms he has initiated to reposition Nigeria,” Kalu said.

The deputy speaker commended Tinubu’s administration for steps taken to stabilise the economy, tackle insecurity and pursue infrastructure development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He also stated that the president’s approach to inclusive governance and youth empowerment had further strengthened public support for his administration.

“President Tinubu has proven to be a unifier and a statesman. Under his leadership, the APC remains strong, united, and focused on delivering democratic dividends to all Nigerians,” he added.

Kalu expressed confidence that the level of support recorded during the APC primary would be replicated during the 2027 general election.

“I have no doubt that Nigerians will vote massively to return President Tinubu for a second term to consolidate on the gains of his first tenure and complete the work of rebuilding our great nation,” the deputy speaker stated.
