Emir Muhammad Sanusi II has advised Nigerians interested in the Dangote Refinery IPO to invest responsibly and avoid putting essential funds into the investment.
Sanusi urged Nigerians not to use their children’s school fees or sell the houses they live in to buy shares.
According to him, people should only invest money they can afford to part with, noting that even smaller amounts could grow over time.
“Invest responsibly, do not take your children school fees and put them in shares. Do not sell the house you live in and put it in shares. Invest what you can afford, 10K, 20K, 30K. This investment will grow, and you will not regret it.”
His advice has sparked reactions on social media, with some Nigerians discussing how much they intend to invest in the Dangote Refinery IPO.

In other news…. Nigerian comedian MC Monica has continued to question Wema Bank after allegedly losing ₦1.8 million from his account following a link he said was sent to him over an alleged Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, traffic violation.
In a fresh complaint, MC Monica questioned how the larger transaction was completed, insisting that the only OTP he generated was for a ₦5,000 payment.
“Wema Bank, the OTP I generated was only for the ₦5,000 payment, so what happened to my ₦1.8 million? Because I didn’t generate any OTP for that,” he said.
The comedian had earlier shared his experience after clicking the link, which he said resulted in money allegedly disappearing from his account.
His latest complaint has also triggered a fresh debate online, with some Nigerians focusing on data protection and others sharing their own experiences with scams.
