Nollywood actress Damilola Adegbite has advised single women not to accept relationship or marriage proposals simply because a man has chosen them, urging them instead to consider whether the person is right for them.
Speaking in a recent episode of her podcast shared on her YouTube channel, Adegbite said some women settle for men who are ready to marry simply because those men have expressed interest in them.
According to the actress, women should also consider their own compatibility with a prospective partner rather than focusing solely on being chosen.
Adegbite also addressed relationships between older women and younger men, advising older women not to accept proposals simply because the prospective partner is younger.
She urged women to assess whether a younger man is respectful and emotionally mature before deciding whether to enter into a relationship or marriage with him.
“Ladies, don’t choose someone because they chose you. Choose someone because they are right for you; whether he’s younger, older or exactly your age, the question is always: Can we love, support, and build with each other?
Because at the end of the day, we are not looking for numbers. We are looking for a partner. And if that partner happens to be younger, that is also fine,” she said.
