The Senior Pastor of Grace Nation Global, Dr. Chris Okafor, has urged Christians to be mindful of their speech, saying words possess the power to influence destiny and shape life’s outcomes.
Speaking during Sunday’s worship service at the international headquarters of Grace Nation Worldwide in Ojodu-Berger, Lagos, the cleric taught on the theme, “Laws and Order of a Proper Speech,” where he encouraged members to align their confessions with God’s word.
Addressing a congregation of worshippers, partners and first-time visitors, Dr. Okafor said God created the world through spoken words and gave mankind the ability to speak life into circumstances.

According to him, believers who understand and apply biblical principles governing speech are better positioned to experience the fulfilment of God’s promises.
“Words are the most powerful tools God gave to man. In your mouth lies the power of manifestation. What you say is what you will see. God spoke and things came to be. As His children, you also create your world by your words,” he said.
The cleric cautioned against negative confessions, saying fear, doubt and unbelief could hinder divine manifestation, while declarations rooted in God’s word attract His intervention.
“When you speak God’s word over your situation, heaven backs it up. But when you speak fear, defeat and impossibility, you empower the enemy. Your mouth is the doorway to your miracle. Watch what comes out of it,” he said.
He added that words have the capacity to build or destroy, heal or wound, and either attract blessings or invite negative outcomes.
“A proper confession will always produce a proper possession. Speak life to your business. Speak health to your body. Speak progress to your family. The word you speak today is the testimony you will share tomorrow,” he charged.
The service also featured a testimony from the parents of a young boy who said their son recovered after spending about three months in a coma and on life support.
According to the parents, the child’s condition had deteriorated despite medical attention, prompting them to seek prayer from Dr. Okafor. They said the cleric prayed with them over the telephone and instructed them to apply spiritual materials while trusting God for the child’s recovery.
The parents told the congregation that the boy later regained consciousness, recovered and was discharged from the hospital.
The child, accompanied by his parents, was presented before the congregation during the service as they offered thanksgiving for what they described as God’s intervention.
Praying for the family, Dr. Okafor declared God’s continued protection and good health over the child.
“No case is too hard for God. When you speak the word and act in faith, God will show up. This boy will live long and fulfil his destiny,” he prayed.
Using the testimony to reinforce his message, the cleric said faith must be accompanied by positive confession, urging believers to declare God’s promises rather than dwell on their challenges.
“Your words are seeds. What you plant with your mouth is what you will harvest in your life. Stop speaking the problem. Start speaking the solution. Stop declaring lack. Start declaring abundance. That is the law of proper speech,” he said.
The service concluded with prayers for open doors, healing, financial breakthroughs, marriages and families, alongside thanksgiving by members who shared testimonies of answered prayers.
Dr. Okafor also encouraged worshippers to remain intentional about their words in the second half of 2026, expressing confidence that those who consistently speak in line with God’s word would experience victory, fruitfulness and divine manifestation.
