Nigerian music legend and ‘Jagajaga’ singer Eedris Abdulkareem has expressed strong admiration for the developmental strides of Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo following a tour of ongoing projects in the state.
The rapper, who visited Benin City on Tuesday, said the impressive work he witnessed would inspire a new song and music video to be released soon.
He was accompanied by the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Prince Kasim Afegbua, during the inspection of key infrastructure projects, including the Sapele Road Flyover at Adesuwa Junction, road constructions at NEPA Junction and Temboga, and the Ramat Park Flyover.

Abdulkareem explained that he decided to visit Edo after the closure of an event centre where he had earlier performed and criticised the federal government. He plans to return to the state for a three-week stay to thoroughly document more projects for his upcoming musical documentary.
“I am not a praise singer, but I will say it as I see it,” he stated. “I have gone round Edo State and seen what the governor has done for the people.”
The artiste, who is currently working on a similar music documentary for Abia State Governor Alex Otti, added that he would highlight both good and bad observations in his music, just as he did with his hit song ‘Jagajaga’ over 25 years ago.
Recall that the singer had faced intense backlash after his tour to Edo State which led him to praising the Governor of the State who is currently under the ruling All Progressive Congress party after knocking the administration for neglecting netizens amid rising insecurity in the country.
