The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ola Olukoyode, has said that only 60 percent of stolen funds can be recovered after they have been taken.
He made this disclosure on Friday at the inauguration of the EFCC Zonal Office in Awka, Anambra State.
The anti-corruption czar noted that preventing corruption and fraud is the best approach to fighting corruption in Nigeria.
He urged citizens not to hesitate to report suspected cases of corruption to the Commission.
“I have discovered that when money has been stolen, the best you can recover is 60 percent,” he said.
He added that the EFCC is in Anambra to boost the state’s economy.
