Ekiti State has recorded another remarkable breakthrough in grassroots football as talented young defender Abass Olasunkanmi completes his move to Brazilian Série A giants, Clube Atlético Mineiro.
Olasunkanmi’s transfer marks a significant step in his budding football career, taking him from the grassroots fields of Ekiti to one of Brazil’s most prominent football clubs.
The young defender rose through the ranks of grassroots football in the state and gained prominence through his participation in the first and second editions of the Prof. Akin Oyebode Cup.
During the competitions, Olasunkanmi captained the Gbonyin Local Football Council team, where he distinguished himself through his leadership qualities, composure and solid defensive performances.
