President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be represented by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, at the 11th edition of the Our Ocean Conference (OOC11) scheduled to hold in Mombasa, Kenya, from June 16 to 18, 2026.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed this in a statement by its spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, on Monday, June 15, noting that the conference will take place at the PrideInn Paradise Resort in the Kenyan coastal city.
According to the ministry, the Our Ocean Conference, established in 2014, has evolved into a leading global platform for mobilising action on ocean sustainability, bringing together governments, private sector players, civil society organisations, academics and coastal communities to address pressing maritime and environmental challenges.
The conference comes at a time of growing concerns over ocean degradation, climate change, illegal fishing, plastic pollution and inadequate marine conservation efforts across the world.

The ministry said the event would feature high-level engagements involving heads of state, ministers and global stakeholders, with discussions focusing on sustainable ocean management, climate adaptation, marine protection and blue economy development.
Other activities lined up for the conference include blue economy investment forums, donor roundtables, public-private partnership sessions, youth leadership programmes, women-focused blue economy platforms and exchanges on indigenous and coastal knowledge systems.
There will also be an innovation and technology exhibition showcasing climate adaptation solutions, BlueTech innovations and digital ocean management systems, alongside thematic workshops and regional policy dialogues.
Nigeria is expected to use the platform to highlight its efforts as one of Africa’s major maritime nations, with discussions expected to focus on the country’s blue economy initiatives, climate change response, ocean health, maritime security and regional cooperation within the Gulf of Guinea.
