The ninth round of fixtures in the Premier League will be played across the UK this weekend.
Of course, the standout fixture will be Sunday’s game between Liverpool and Arsenal.
The game at Anfield will determine if the Reds will be in the title race this season, or the Gunners are ready to pull clear in their title defence.
Before then, however, there will be several key matches on Saturday.
Which fixtures could we see possible upsets?
1. Chelsea vs Man Utd: Contrary to expectations, Michael Carrick will still be in charge of Manchester United for their trip to Chelsea in Saturday’s early kick-off. The Red Devils arrive at Stamford Bridge sitting just above the relegation zone. And although most fans and pundits believe the poor run could continue against Xabi Alonso’s men, this could prove to be a crucial turning point for United.
2. Man City vs Brighton: These two teams faced each other in the Carabao Cup in midweek. Manchester City came back twice to draw the tie 2-2 in regulation, before winning the eventual penalty shoot-out. But the table toppers have been given an early warning ahead of Saturday. And if they don’t heed it, they could be dropping points for the second consecutive week.
3. Tottenham vs Crystal Palace: Last weekend, Tottenham Hotspur pulled off a massive result, winning 2-0 at Chelsea. The victory took Roberto De Zerbi’s men out of the relegation zone and they will be looking to kickstart their campaign. But this is a London derby and anything can happen. Palace will arrive fighting to avoid falling into the bottom three.
