Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland, has claimed that his side is in a “rebuilding phase” despite being expected to challenge Arsenal for the Premier League title again this season.
Speaking after helping Man City defeat Coventry City 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday, Haaland suggested that Arsenal are in a strong position in the title race because they have played together for a long time.
Manchester City have been rocked by a summer of seismic change, losing not only Pep Guardiola but also key stars Rodri, Bernardo Silva and John Stones.
They have made a bright start to life under new manager Enzo Maresca, winning all three Premier League matches so far this season.
On Arsenal and Manchester City’s Premier League title chances, Haaland told Viaplay: “Arsenal have played together for a long time and have built this up over a longer period, a bit like City had when I first joined.
“We are still in a kind of rebuilding phase, but the transfer window has been fantastic, I have to say.”
