EPL: Wright-Phillips gives reasons João Pedro should leave Chelsea immediately

Former Chelsea player, Shaun Wright-Phillips has asserted that Joao Pedro should consider departing Stamford Bridge as soon as possible.

The Brazilian arrived at the Blues from Brighton & Hove Albion in a £60 million deal last summer and has emerged as one of their standout performers during a disappointing season.

Although Pedro has thrived in south London, Wright-Phillips believes he is too talented to miss out on Champions League football.

Chelsea has suffered six consecutive defeats in the Premier League and faces a significant risk of failing to qualify for any of the three European competitions next season.

Reports have indicated that Barcelona is monitoring Pedro, and Wright-Phillips is convinced that a transfer to the Catalan club would be ideal for the forward. He even stated that if he were in Pedro’s position, he would do everything possible to facilitate that transfer.

Wright-Phillips expressed told Somos Fanaticos vs the Standard, “I believe it would be fantastic for Joao if he were to go.

“Personally, considering the way Chelsea has been managed, if I were him, I would do everything to finalize this transfer.”

Wright-Phillips emphasized the prospect of Pedro playing alongside Raphinha and Lamine Yamal as something ‘great’ and expressed confidence that the Brazilian would score numerous goals if he made the move to Camp Nou.

He added, “Playing at Camp Nou, alongside Raphinha and [Yamine] Lamal, would be great for him. He would score many goals, as we have already witnessed what he accomplished in a team that wasn’t as strong as this Chelsea team.

“If I were Joao Pedro, I would aspire to play in the Champions League, and I can’t envision Chelsea qualifying for any European competition. Joao possesses the talent and deserves to compete in the Champions League.”

Pedro, who became the 18th forward to join the Premier League giants under BlueCo, has a contract with the club that extends until 2033.
