Nottingham Forest on Thursday night defeated Aston Villa by a lone goal in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final, news.ng reports.
The only goal of the match for Forest was scored in the 71st minute, courtesy of Chris Wood from a penalty kick.
The two teams will lock horns next Thursday in the return leg as they battle to qualify for the final.
Elsewhere, Braga beat SC Freiburg 2–1 as they prepare to defend their lead next week.
In other matches in the Conference League, Crystal Palace defeated Shakhtar Donetsk 3–1, while Rayo Vallecano secured a 1–0 victory over Strasbourg.
The return legs will be decided next week.
