The Federal Government will resume the evacuation of Nigerian nationals from South Africa on Monday, with 271 returnees expected to arrive in Lagos on Tuesday morning.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an Air Peace aircraft is scheduled to depart Nigeria at 3:00 p.m. on Monday and arrive in South Africa at about 9:00 p.m. local time.

The return flight is expected to leave South Africa at 12:00 midnight and land at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Tuesday morning.

The ministry said 271 Nigerians are expected to be evacuated on the flight as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to assist its citizens in South Africa.

The update was conveyed in a statement by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa.
