The National Transition Committee of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) has extended the tenure of the Chairman of its Ogun State Chapter, Chief Olalekan Soyinka, popularly known as Ayinla Egba, until the end of January 2027.
The tenure extension was conveyed in a letter dated July 7, 2026, and signed by the Secretary of the FIBAN National Transition Committee, Alhaji ‘Gbenga Adebayo-Oladunni.
According to the committee, the decision was informed by Soyinka’s outstanding leadership and the remarkable progress recorded by the Ogun State chapter within a few months of his appointment.
The letter stated that the National Transition Committee, led by its Chairman, Mogaji Kola Olootu, was impressed by the achievements of Soyinka and his executive members in repositioning the association and raising its profile among professional electronic media organisations in Ogun State.
“I’ve been directed by the FIBAN National Transition Committee under the chairmanship of Mogaji Kola Olootu to inform you that, having heard of your fantastic performance in Ogun State within a short period of your appointment with your team, you have moved a mountain gloriously.
“Therefore, you are worthy to continue the good job you are doing to make FIBAN stand among other reputable electronic media associations in Ogun State,” the letter read in part.
The committee said the extension would enable the Ogun State leadership to consolidate on its achievements and sustain efforts at strengthening the association ahead of the conduct of the state chapter election in 2027.
It also commended Soyinka and his team for what it described as their impressive accomplishments within a short period, expressing confidence that they would intensify efforts to further propagate the ideals and objectives of FIBAN across Ogun State.
The committee congratulated the Ogun chairman and his executive members on the tenure extension and urged them to maintain the momentum in advancing the association’s growth until a new state executive is elected in 2027.
