The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has expelled the suspended National Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam.
Also expelled were the suspended National Youth Leader, Uchechukwu Chukwuma; Adamu Abubakar Modibbo; Abubakar Dogara; Nuraddeen Bisalla; Solsuema Osaro; Ambo Ekpeyong; Eluwa Ifeanyi Henry; Humphrey Unwukaeze; and Judith Israel Shuaibu.
The NWC took the decision on Thursday, October 23, after considering the report of the disciplinary committee set up to investigate allegations of financial misconduct and disloyalty.
Those who signed and endorsed the expulsion included the Acting National Chairman, Dr. Sadiq Umar Abubakar Gombe; Deputy National Chairman (South), Senator Ugochukwu Uba; National Secretary, Dr. Olu Agunloye; National Legal Adviser, Aderemi Abimbola; and seven other national officers.
The party had earlier in July suspended Gabam, the National Auditor, Nze Nnadi Clarkson, and the National Youth Leader, Chukwuma, over allegations of financial misappropriation and subsequently set up a committee to investigate the claims.
According to the NWC, the other expelled members were also found guilty of disloyalty by the disciplinary committee that probed allegations of nonconformity and misconduct.
Part of the statement read:
“The National Working Committee also considered another report which detailed how some nonconforming and disloyal members of the party, including Adamu Abubakar Modibbo, Abubakar Dogara, Nuraddeen Bisalla, Solsuema Osaro, Ambo Ekpeyong, Eluwa Ifeanyi Henry, Humphrey Unwukaeze, and Judith Israel Shuaibu, gained unlawful entry into the National Secretariat of the Party at 17 Nairobi Street, Wuse II, Abuja, in the early hours of Monday, July 28, 2025, and were caught in the act by law enforcement agencies.”
It added that the intruders were arrested and detained with sensitive official documents and valuables taken from the SDP Secretariat and are currently facing prosecution in court.
