At least four passengers sustained injuries on Sunday morning after a commercial bus reportedly lost braking control and plunged into a roadside ditch along Oba Ogunusi Road in the Ojodu area of Lagos State.
The incident occurred opposite Babs Fafunwa School, inward the Victoria Island axis, and involved a 14-seater yellow bus.
No other vehicle was reported to be involved in the crash.
According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, preliminary findings indicate that brake failure may have caused the accident, leading the vehicle to veer off the road.
“Approximately four occupants sustained severe injuries and have been evacuated to the Emergency Centre at Toll Gate,” the agency said in a statement shared on its X handle.
LASTMA noted that its operatives promptly responded to the scene to coordinate rescue operations and restore order, while arrangements were made to tow the damaged vehicle.
“Recovery operations remain ongoing, and there is currently no effect on traffic flow,” the agency added.
