The Niger Delta activist and traditional ruler, Asari Dokubo, has reflected on the personal challenges he says he has faced over the past decade, particularly regarding his movements and daily life.
Dokubo made the remarks during a video shared on Facebook on Sunday, July 19, 2026, where he spoke about his experiences, security concerns, and how they have affected his lifestyle.Watch Video Here
In his statement, he explained that he has spent much of the last 11 years at home, describing the limitations he says he has experienced since 2014.
He said, “From 2014 to date, I have been at home for 11 years; even sleeping in Port Harcourt is difficult for me,” describing what he said has been a prolonged period of personal restriction and security concerns.
According to him, the circumstances have significantly affected his ability to move around freely and carry out activities in places he once visited without difficulty.
Dokubo further noted that the situation has required him to make adjustments to his daily routine, adding that personal security remains an important consideration in his decisions.
He also stressed that his experiences have strengthened his resolve to continue speaking on issues he considers important despite the challenges he says he has encountered over the years.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to continue advocating for peace, justice, and improved security across the country, emphasizing that every citizen deserves to live and move freely without fear or unnecessary restrictions.
